TaskKin

Privacy Policy · Effective 2 September 2026

TaskKin is a family chore, quest and reward application. It helps parents and other authorised family members organise tasks, track family progress, and manage virtual rewards for child profiles.

This policy explains what information TaskKin uses, why it is used, and the choices available to families. The parent or family owner is responsible for setting up and managing their family in TaskKin and for deciding which children and trusted adults may participate.

Who this policy applies to

TaskKin supports parent and family-owner accounts; child profiles, including profiles linked to a child's own signed-in device; Family Helpers or other trusted adults invited by a parent; and family members using a shared device under an authorised profile.

Children should use TaskKin only with the knowledge and permission of their parent or guardian. Parent accounts control family membership, child-profile linking, approvals and other protected family actions.

Information TaskKin uses

TaskKin uses ToKins as virtual family/gameplay currency. ToKins cannot be purchased for real money and have no cash value. Children do not buy ToKins.

How information is used

TaskKin uses information to create and operate family accounts and profiles; show the correct tasks, rewards, balances, avatars and progress; support secure invitations and profile linking; enforce role permissions; process requested features; keep authorised devices consistent; prevent invalid or duplicate operations; maintain service reliability; and comply with applicable law.

TaskKin does not sell personal information.

Children's privacy and parental control

TaskKin is designed for family use under parent or guardian control. A child profile can be created and managed by an authorised parent. A child may use a shared device or, after the secure claim and parent-approval process, may be linked to their own signed-in account and control only their linked child profile.

Parents control family membership and protected actions such as profile linking, task approval and reward management. Family Helpers receive limited permissions and do not automatically receive owner or Parent authority.

Parents should avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information in names, task descriptions, notes or photos. If a parent believes a child's information has been added incorrectly or wants to request its deletion, they should use the contact details below.

Sharing and service providers

TaskKin uses Firebase Authentication for sign-in, Cloud Firestore for cloud family and gameplay data, Firebase Cloud Functions for trusted server-side operations, and Google Play Billing for optional TaskKin+ subscription purchases, verification and entitlement management.

Google Play handles subscription payment processing. Purchases, cancellations and subscription management are handled through the purchaser's Google Play account. TaskKin+ does not make ToKins purchasable and does not give children a way to buy virtual currency.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business reorganisation subject to appropriate safeguards. TaskKin does not share family information with unrelated third parties for their own direct marketing.

Google's own privacy terms apply to its services. Families can review Google's Privacy Policy.

Data security

TaskKin uses authentication, role-based permissions, server-authoritative operations and transaction/idempotency controls where appropriate to protect family data and virtual balances. Data transmitted to cloud services is protected using the security provided by the platform and service providers.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Parents should protect their account, Parent PIN and devices, and should not share invitation, setup or child-claim codes except with the intended family member.

Retention and deletion

TaskKin retains account, family, gameplay, transaction and subscription records while needed to provide the service, preserve family history, prevent duplicate transactions, meet security needs and comply with legal obligations. Different records may be retained for different periods according to their purpose.

Archiving or removing an item from the visible app does not necessarily erase related transaction or audit history. A parent may request access, correction or deletion of personal information using the contact details below. Requests are assessed against account security, family authority and any legal or operational need to retain particular records.

Google Play subscription history and account information are also governed by the user's Google account and Google's retention practices.

Family choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, users may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a copy of their personal information, and to object to certain processing. A parent or guardian should make requests concerning a child profile.

TaskKin may need to verify the requester's identity and authority over the relevant family or child profile before acting. Users may also have the right to complain to their local data-protection authority.

Optional TaskKin+ subscriptions

TaskKin may offer optional TaskKin+ plans through Google Play. Google Play processes the purchase and provides TaskKin with the information needed to verify and maintain the subscription entitlement. Subscription management and cancellation take place through the purchaser's Google Play account.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when TaskKin's features, service providers or legal obligations change. The updated policy will show a revised effective date. Where appropriate, important changes will also be communicated in the app or through another suitable channel.
